Hi all, small question
#71
Hi, I just wrote down some notes how far I am with this. I just reinstalled fresh osmc image with your repository. I succeeded to connect to ibus for a while since it showed outside temp. Consumption and all other values didn't work yet. Display buttons doesn't work and GPIO7 won't switch display on - I have to ground VM manually. Audio output is not used yet since BM24 is connected via doubleshielded cable to mbus 6 CD changer where the line inputs should be connected. I begin to found more easier to make an avr to emulate mbus cd changer.

Car is a early 1995 E38 with a new video module and 16:9 display, original MK 1 navigation unit removed. LCM changed from 2005 E53 X5 and coded in car.
Raspberry Pi 3 B with Behringer U-CONTROL UCA222, USB wireless keyboard and Resler IBUS-USB adapter

How I get other onboard computer values visible?
How ibuscommunicator remotes display/steering wheel buttons with kodi?
GPIO7 won't switch to video putput - should I try Reslers NTSC wire?

Aim is to make original display to play bluetooth or airplay audio from phone, music from usb stick and have a obc visible on screen. Maybe later tv stick and navigator would be nice (may need BMW MK3/4 navi unit because kodi is not capable)

the cd emulation of ibuscommunicator is working?
do you use the last addon testversion? https://github.com/harryberlin/repositor...1.3.6k.zip

bm and mfl buttons will work, if the addon detects the cd audio menu.

do you have ike high?

gpio7 setting is enabled?

Cd emulation doesn't seem to work. Maybe because original cd changer is not ibus model?
ibuscommunicator version is 1.3.6k
Today I will try with cd cartridge filled to get cd player to work
Yes, all E38s have ike high model, I can get obc values visible in there
GPIO7 is enabled. Could this be grounding error from 12 V - 5 V DC-DC supply? I will try Reslers NTSC wire.

I have to make small steps with this because kids takes all my testing time in the evenings..

are you sure it's a bm24?
bm24 should understand ibus cd changer.
is your cd changer disconnected?

otherwise try tape mode.

runs the addon, or do you get an error after startup?

I remember seen BM24 label on it. Might be BM23 too?
Somehow with fresh install everything works now with default settings. GPIO7 had to be changed to Reslers NTSC wire.
Tape mode is working, CD is now disconnected because I'm trying to solve wires for audio input, seems quite impossible without breaking the whole doubleshielded cable. Picture looks little greenish black&white, is it normal? LCD just changed to new but it looked the same with the old one. I also receive "Pulse-Eight CEC adapter" initialization error on screen. Sometimes view suddenly returns to video module settings view and in testing I once lost data from on board computer view - it returned after rebooting.

disable input device cec and you'll don't get the error. is only for hdmi.

i have no idea because of the picture. maybe wrong display. e39 and e53 have different displays.

Hi. I got a CD changer installed, put a CD in slot 6, changed setting to BM23 and ripped audio inputs out from a changers connector which was the easiest way to connect. Now everything seems to work as they should so far. I traced color issue to my display, it has lost somehow red color.

Thanks harryberlin for the great addon!

Video demo of my old MK I 4:3 display which has all the colors:

can you make a further short log file with with inserted tape?

Hello Dear Harry!
I changed RP2 to RP3B +, installed the latest version of the OSMC and installed "ibuscommunicator" from the link https://github.com/harryberlin/repositor...1.3.6k.zip, but it does not start.

If I install from the repository, it starts, but there is no necessary functionality that you added in 1.3.6k.

kodi.log is attached

Thanks in advance!
