new installation and additional features ?
#1
Hello harryberlin,

it has been a while that i didn't come on the forum. Still using your software, still really happy about it, but i have sometimes an issue that the Raspberry get stock powered on and doesn't restart correctly. I am using a Pibus board on it with one of your OSMC build from a while ago.
I planned to do a fresh installation, with your 2.0 image version here : https://www.bmwraspcontrol.de/board/show...hp?tid=527
Is that the good approach ?
On the other side, i was thinking of getting some additional features, i had in mind to retrofit on my E46 the TPMS (RDKS in German i think). I would think it would be a good feature to get the tire pressure displayed on the onboard car information tab, as well as having the possibility to configure switching automatically to the TPMS display screen in case of a loss pressure detection in a tire, like we see in the modern BMW : https://cdn.bmwblog.com/wp-content/uploa...pms-07.jpg
What do you think about that?
I would also love to get the cornering light working on my E46, is there anything i can do to help getting this fit to the E46 ? Even with wiring modification ?
And finally, i would like to set up the rearcam plugin : http://www.bmwraspcontrol.de/board/showt...php?tid=53 but last time i tried, it didn't worked. Do we agree that i only have to install python-opencv and then the plugin, and it should work, even when using a Pibus ?
Thanks for the feedback.

1.
a. use current osmc image: http://ftp.fau.de/osmc/osmc/download/ins...805.img.gz
b. setup osmc / kodi for you
c. disable hdmi-cec input device
d. install repo https://github.com/harryberlin/repositor...-1.0.0.zip
e. install last ibus addon testversion: https://github.com/harryberlin/repositor...1.3.6k.zip
f. install skin: https://github.com/harryberlin/repositor....0.20b.zip
g. install https://github.com/harryberlin/repositor...-1.0.2.zip

2. how to get the presure level from ibus?

3. E46 has one relais for both fog lights. so it is not possible to control left or right side.

4. rearcam addon works bad. big delay. pibus is prepared to switch between rasp and rearcam.

thanks for the procedure, i  will try that this weekend.

It is link on the K-bus, indeed, nothing we can do here i suppose ?

Ok, i get it, but what if we use the GPIO to control 2 relays connected to each fog lights and use a diode to avoid reverse current to the relay used by the light control module. As i said, i am good in wiring, if we could control the GPIO, i could figure something out of this.

4. rearcam addon works bad. big delay. pibus is prepared to switch between rasp and rearcam.
I have seend the delay in the video, i found it quite acceptable. If you don't try to park too fast. Can i give a try and see if i am fine with it ?

2. you have to log the ibus during state request with inpa.

3. last e83 lsz can control left and right fog lights. but i don't know if you will get it working in e46.

4. don't have time at the moment to check the rearcam addon.

2. Ok, i will log this as soon as i have done the retrofit. Could be cool as well to plan having the possibility to reset through the interface too.

3. I don't think you got my idea. What i wanted to do, is to use conventional relay, outside the LSZ and cable them to the fog lights directly. I would then ask you to, instead of sending Ibus message to turn the left or right fog on, to use the GPIO port of the Raspberry to command the relays. If we do that, it would enable the fog lights to any Ibus compatible car even having a single relay to control the fog lights with a bit of wiring and relays.

4. No issue, i understand that ;-)

3. i did understand what's your aim, but i think you will get trouble with lsz, if you will add some stuff between LSZ and the lights. programming should be possible.

I will use some diodes, to prevent current going back to LSZ and relays, to isolate it. I am confident it is feasible.
